Flights to Bhutan: Paro Airport Guide & Airlines 2026
Bhutan is served by only one international airport — Paro International Airport (PBH). Nestled in a deep valley surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks, flying into Bhutan is not just travel — it’s one of the most scenic and thrilling flying experiences in the world.
This complete guide covers everything you need to know about flights to Bhutan, airlines, schedules, and what to expect at Paro Airport.
Paro International Airport (PBH)
- Located in the beautiful Paro Valley, Western Bhutan
- Approximately 1.5–2 hours drive from Thimphu
- 5–6 hours drive from Phuentsholing (border town)
It is Bhutan’s only international airport and is known for its dramatic landing approach between steep mountains — considered one of the most challenging airports for pilots.

These flights are great for saving time but can be affected by weather.
