Coaster Bus 4
The Coaster Bus 4 has a capacity of 18 seats for passengers, including the driver and guide. While the bus is capable of accommodating more passengers, we prioritize your comfort by using it for fewer passengers than its full capacity. The luggage is stored on the rooftop. These buses are non-AC and are 3rd generation Toyota models. Our buses are well-maintained and in excellent condition. Since these buses are not used for public service, they remain clean, hygienic, and well-designed.
The Coaster Bus 4 features large sliding windows that offer stunning views and excellent photo opportunities from inside. It is particularly comfortable for long journeys on hilly roads.
We also offer a different type of coaster bus called Coaster Bus 6. This newer model comes with both AC and non-AC options. However, AC is not typically used on hilly terrain and is unnecessary in Bhutan. In Bhutan, you should enjoy the fresh, clean air provided by its 72% forest coverage without the need for air conditioning.
Overview of 3rd Generation Coaster Bus
Introduced in January 1993, the 3rd generation Coaster Bus featured a more aerodynamic body. It was available with various engines, including the 4.2-litre 1HD-T turbocharged diesel, the 4.2-litre 1HZ diesel, and the 3.4-litre 3B diesel. In November 1995, a 4WD BB58 model was introduced, followed by the 4.1-litre 15B-F diesel engine in 1997. Additionally, a series hybrid EV model was added in August 1997, using a 1.5-litre engine. The Coaster received facelifts in 2001 and again in 2007.
Overview of 4th Generation Coaster Bus
The 4th generation Coaster Bus saw several design enhancements, including an increase in height by 60 mm (2.4 in), width by 40 mm (1.6 in), and window height by 50 mm (2.0 in) compared to the previous model. The door steps were also extended by 65 mm (2.6 in) for easier access. The body design was made more square-shaped to provide more spacious seating. The windshield was widened to improve outward visibility. The Coaster is available in three configurations: the standard wheelbase, which seats 25 passengers; the long wheelbase, which can seat either 24 or 29 passengers; and a school bus configuration, which accommodates 3 adults and 49 children but does not have a front passenger seat.
